Pumpkin Blast has always been intended as a community event – an opportunity for the creative minds of the Tennessee Valley to come together for a day of fun, inventive competition. We know that the recent government furloughs, shut down and general economic uncertainty have had a tremendous impact on our area, even causing several competitors to stop work on what surely would have been extraordinary exhibits of pumpkin blasting prowess.
This can't truly be a community event when so much of our community is unable to participate. For this reason, we have decided to let this year’s crop rest safely in the fields as our community recovers. Pumpkin Blast will instead make its debut with next year’s harvest on November 8, 2014, providing everyone in the Valley time to regroup and to make plans to translate their pumpkin blasting dreams into competitive reality.
Registration will reopen in early 2014. We will continue to provide updates on our Facebook page about registration and ticket sales for the November 2014 event. Refunds will be provided to those who have registered or purchased tickets already. We are extremely grateful for the support shown to this event and to Holy Family Regional School.
